Appliance Care

We explain in detail the care you should keep in mind.

Braces
How to brush your teeth with braces

When braces are placed, it is common for food particles to get trapped around them. That’s why thorough cleaning is essential—otherwise, cavities can develop.

Front teeth: Place the toothbrush on the upper half of the tooth and use circular motions. Then move to the lower half.

Position the brush over the brackets, covering two to three teeth at a time, and clean with circular movements.

Don’t forget to brush the molar tubes as well.

Back of the front teeth: Hold the brush vertically and clean tooth by tooth.

Lingual surface: Hold the brush at a diagonal angle and brush one to two teeth at a time.

Occlusal surfaces: Place the brush on the chewing surface, starting from the back and moving forward.

Retainers
Retainer care

When you’re not wearing your retainer, keep it in its case. Remove the retainer only to eat, drink, and brush your teeth. While not in use, it should always stay in its case to prevent loss, breakage, or contamination.

Cleaning your retainers

Every time you remove your retainer, gently brush the entire inside surface with your toothbrush. To complement cleaning, every two to three weeks dissolve one Corega Tabs tablet in 200 ml of tap water. Soak the retainer for three minutes, rinse with water, and store it in its case.

Palatal Expander (MSE)
MSE care

Proper cleaning of the MSE maxillary expander is essential to ensure its correct functioning and the patient's oral health. For effective cleaning, we recommend using a syringe or a specific toothbrush. The syringe allows you to rinse the spaces where food debris and bacterial plaque could accumulate, while the toothbrush is ideal for cleaning all surfaces of the expander, ensuring that no residue remains that could cause oral health problems.
